Top 3 Biggest Traveller Funeral Tributes

When it comes to traveller funerals nothing is impossible! Always expect the unexpected, they love a big send off to celebrate someone’s life. Every year tributes get bigger and more challenging, and at Funky Flowers we love a challenge!

In this month’s blog we will be listing our top three biggest traveller tributes, how someone’s idea comes to life through the use of flowers.

 

NUMBER 1: 5FT SHIRE HORSE

Coming in strong at number one, a customer wanted their relatives horse brought to life and at a life size scale of 5ft. sounds impossible and trust me many thoughts of how we were going to do it were raised, but of course we never turn down a challenge! So the marquee was put up and the shop moved outside temporarily! Not even the blazing sun could stop us! This beauty was handmade from wood, chicken wire, oasis, and a whole load of fresh basing!

 

NUMBER 2: 6FT BED

Next up, quite literally the saying “laid to rest “in physical form! A large 6ft bed ready for one to lay in. Once again, all hand made by Louise, part time carpenter and full-time florist! This started from a cut out wooden frame filled with oasis, a whole lot of basing and perfected with a beautiful bit of pink organza! All real flowers!

 

NUMBER 3: 6FT GATES OF HEAVEN

Last and certainly not least, who wouldn’t want a real-life size stairway to their final resting place? This beautiful stairway stands at a large 6ft which is the biggest we at Funky Flowers have ever completed! And the result was extremely rewarding. Once again, our part time carpenter Louise, created this from handmade wooden stairs packed with oasis and finished with artificial flowers. And what is a traveller funeral without s large self-portrait? To finish this grand stairway off a little bit of gold spray paint and blue and white roses everywhere.
