The story behind sending flowers dates back to old times, when they were used to communicate and send messages as each flower and colour has a specific meaning. For example red roses symbolise deep love and affection, white roses symbolise innocence and hope and yellow roses symbolise joy and friendship. The number of roses sent also has a hidden meaning – 1 rose symbolises ‘you are the one’ and 12 roses means ‘be mine’.
